A Solidarity Vigil for the People of El Fasher – Sudanese Students Association in Istanbul

A solidarity vigil was held in Istanbul’s Beyazıt Square in support of our people in the city of El Fasher, condemning the killings and genocidal acts committed by the terrorist Rapid Support Forces militia, backed by the United Arab Emirates, against unarmed civilians in the Darfur region. A considerable number of members of the Sudanese community participated in the vigil, alongside activists and supporters of various nationalities, expressing their anger and strong condemnation of what is happening in El Fasher and throughout Darfur. Participants raised banners condemning the crimes of the Rapid Support Forces militia and denouncing the external support it receives from the United Arab Emirates. They called on the international community and relevant authorities to adopt a clear and firm position to stop the violations, protect civilians, and hold accountable those responsible and those who support them. At the conclusion of the vigil, the organizers affirmed that Sudanese people abroad stand firmly behind their fellow citizens at home, and that this vigil is only the first step in a series of ongoing events until the suffering of our people ends and peace and justice prevail in Sudan. They also called on all Sudanese abroad to unite and raise their voices loudly against the terrorist Rapid Support Forces militia and everyone who supports or colludes with it.
